Scoliosis Bracing for Kids and Teens

Custom spinal bracing may be a crucial part of the treatment process for some people with scoliosis or Scheuermann’s Kyphosis.

For growing kids and teenagers, bracing can position the spine in such a way to encourage symmetrical vertebral growth to slow progression of the curve.

We collaborate with Orthotist Grace Addison of InMotion Orthotics (who is located just down the road from us in Southport!) to support those kids and teens who would benefit from a custom spinal brace.
During sessions with your ScoliClinic therapist, you can discuss if custom spinal bracing is recommended for your child or teen.

TSC Connect

We get it – it’s not always possible for you to bring your child for treatment with our team. We acknowledge barriers such as geographical location, finances, or scheduling, and so we created our YouTube channel with the goal of improving accessibility for families. TSC Connect is a platform for you to access free scoliosis resources from home.

With online workouts becoming more and more popular, we designed scoliosis-friendly workouts that your teen can do at home – and here are a few of our favourites. Be sure to check out our full channel HERE to see more workouts, educational videos, interviews, and more.

*Please remember that although these workout are designed to help your child maintain your fitness with scoliosis-friendly movements, they will not necessarily prevent progression of the curve. These workouts do NOT replace individualized consultation and treatment by a Scoliosis-trained Physiotherapist – in our 1:1 sessions at The Scoliosis Collective, our therapists will prescribe curve-specific exercises to help your child achieve specific goals.

Meet Hannah and learn about her 5-year scoliosis journey

Hannah is a client of our sister company The ScoliClinic in Canada. She found out she had scoliosis with she was 13. In this interview, she shares her experience as a newly diagnosed teen, navigating high school with a brace, and how she’s thankful for her parents support and firm encouragement to do her scoliosis exercises.

Core Workout

Core, core and more core! Are you always told by your medical professionals to ‘just keep your core strong’, but then only see YouTube workouts with lots of twisting and crunching? We made this core workout just for you!

Flexibility Series

Maintaining range of motion and flexibility in our body is important, and we especially want to maximize the flexibility of the muscles of the shoulders, hips, and legs.

Success Stories

How is success defined? In the field of scoliosis, decreasing the curve is the default definition of success.
But is that always the case?

Whether your teen is receiving treatment from a Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Orthotist, Physician… the most important thing to reflect on is what success means to you and your child.

We’re getting ready to share a few stories from families on the scoliosis journey who have defined success in their own way, and achieved it!
